SGI Food is a family-run trading company supplying halal frozen chicken from GACC-registered plants in China. Our China entity, Shenzhen Shengji Food Co., Ltd., is registered with China Customs as an import and export consignee and shipper. Our son Alfie is on the ground in China managing day-to-day operations.
SGI Food was founded by Robert Hodges to supply quality frozen poultry into price-sensitive markets with full export documentation and traceability. We started with established Turkish and American product into the UAE through our Dubai and Hong Kong offices.
In 2026 we registered Shenzhen Shengji Food Co., Ltd. as our China operating company, giving us direct access to GACC-registered processing plants in Shandong Province. Alfie Hodges runs China operations on the ground — sourcing, quality control, and shipment coordination.
We work with a small number of trusted plants rather than brokering across the market. Every shipment ships with a veterinary health certificate, certificate of origin, and — where required — halal certification issued by SHC, accredited by the GCC Accreditation Center.
